Kituski Geigeki is a shugenja and architect serving the Dragon Clan. He is a firm believer in logic and certainty. He has a tendency to say what he thinks. Though he is also more than happy to let someone else make the argument.

Background

A few Kitsuki in every generation are born with their ancestors talent with the Kami. Kitsuki Geigeki is one such individual. He has never had a strong connection to the kami but it has been strong enough for a basic understanding of the spirits. This has allowed him to take his Shugenja talents and apply them to investigations. Geigeki is hopes one day to join the a small group of Dragon Shugenja known as The Followers of the Method.

Childhood

The second son of a Kitsuki Magistrate, Kitsuki Asachi. Asachi always challenged his children to word games and puzzles. From a very early age the children of Asachi learned the ways of Nazado. At the same time though he always encouraged his children to speak their mind. He taught them that to know the solution was meaningless unless others knew the answer as well.

Asachi had also taught his children to respect the natural world and the mountains around them. Asachi had often taken his children climbing, as many young dragon children do. Though the young Geigeki, Hiro at the time, also enjoyed going the other direction. He also did this by himself. This was, as Hiro would find, very dangerous. Hiro especially loved going into the caves in the winter. The caves were warm while everything in the mountains were cold. When he was 12 Hiro would get trapped in one of his favorite caves. His family spent two days searching for him. Since that time he has never set foot in a cave again and he has trouble in small places of any kind.

Interests: Mathematics

In addition to Architecture, Geigeki has always been fascinated with the predictive power of Mathematics. Many in the Emerald Empire see mathematics as a tool to assess taxes and to count money. Geigeki on the other hand has seen that the herbalist must measure correct proportions and that the Kagaku master must scale the correct proportions. Otherwise, either case could lead to disaster. Geigeki has also started to see that mathematics and Engineering also go hand in hand. He has started to see connections everywhere and never passes up an opportunity.

Sacred Mathematics

Recently Geigeki has started to see the symmetries between Theology and mathematical proofs. He has started to see symmetry in the kami and the way they interact within nature. He believes that these symmetry may between the cyclic nature of Astrology and the Kami.

Career

Architect

Geigeki has also developed a strong interest in Architecture. This stems originally from his childhood but he has nourished it as he has aged. He has a number of different designs for structures and gardens in his scroll satchel and continues to draw more all the time. This brought Geigeki to the attention of Kitsuki Rikuto, who has accepted Geigeki as an apprentice architect.

Projects

With the empress taking up residence in Kyuden Tonbo much work needed to be done on the minor clan's Kyuden. Rikuto sent Geigeki to improve and expand upon the temples at Kyuden Tonbo before the empress' arrival. The Shrines have been completed and now stand in majesty at the Empress's "retreat".

Repairs to Kyuden Kitsune: The natural beauty of the Kyuden Mori damaged and the fox in need, Kitsuki Geigeki could not help but offer his help. His offer was accepted by the Kitsune and he arranged major clearing and laid the ground for repairs to be done to what remained provinces of the fox. It would take time to repair the damage to the lands but Geigeki had built a foundation for that work. His time amongst the fox has greatly effected his outlook on the natural world around him. He hopes that the Kitsune will alow him back to oversee other projects as they rebuild on the foundation he laid.

The time he spent at court at Kyuden Hida was fascinating for the Shugenja Architect.

Commerce

During Trade Negotiations on the Mantis Isles, Kitsuki Geigeki Acted as an Assistant Negotiator.

Gegeki has often found that discussing the abstract nature of commerce to be quite interesting. He has had several discussion on the topic with a number of merchant patrons. Including: Kaeru Itoshi (Heir to Kaeru family)

The Fan and Sword

Service in Court

Kyuden Hida: When attending this court Geigeki befriended Kaiu Sanjuro when discussing construction methods. The two also discussed an anomalous portion of repairs in the structure. The two discussed the repairs and how small stones held together so well. This leads to a beginning of a correspondence between the two men.

Shiro Chuda: A winter of fun, festivities and bonding over Nine Izo Sake and Ghost Stories.

Shiro Moto: Why he was sent to the court of the Moto was beyond the scope of the Architect's ability to understand.

Service in War

Geigeki is a veteran of a number of major battles. In most battles Geigeki generally supports bushi with his potions and spells rather than using spells to attack his enemies directly.

Ivory Invasion: In the Battle of Bashlampur Geigeki served alongside a number of other samurai acting as a infantry unit attacking the Armory. The unit which geigeki was in used Kyujutsu and Spells to support bushi rush.

Seige of Mukui Toshi: In the Battle of Mukui Toshi, Geigeki was part of a mounted infantry unit. At first they defended a gap in the walls. At this gap they pushed the attacking army out of the walls. Then they were called back to stand outside a temple. The bushi in the squad defended temple with their bair hands while the shugenja healed some wounded peasants within the temple.
